New Awakenings

My writing journey began as a kid. Although the journey started off as being just an avid reader, I gradually transitioned into a bit of writing. I experimented a little and even tried writing for a paper. The one article that got published in the local paper, was my pride and joy years ago. I realized after that experience that this is what I loved doing.

Because writing required time, I let the sun set on my dreams. I got caught up in the corporate rat-race and never turned back until now.

The pandemic gave me the opportunity to dig deeper and I started to attend writing webinars and settled on one author who I liked. She nudged me in the direction I was leaning towards and I finally made the decision. I went through her courses and with a great deal of soul searching I put pen to paper, so to speak. I started pushing myself to think, trying my best to avoid procrastination, and finding time in between my full-time job, I allowed my creative side to open up.

I realized, that writing true stories about regular people is where my passion remains. As I keep saying, everyone has a story to tell but there is no one to tell them. My hope is that telling stories may inspire and teach others or others can relate to similar instances and probably learn from another's experiences and knowledge.

So here I go in my small attempt to help others find their voice through me.

For me, this was indeed a new awakening!
